Getting to know Indigo

When did you know you wanted to be an artist?

I actually didn’t know when and in fact, being an artist is not really my goal. I’m just a normal person who loves to express herself through art, because it’s hard for me to explain my feelings with words, and art is the best way to show.

What do you think you would be doing if you weren’t an artist?

I would be teaching and I am teaching art now.

What advice could you give to young artists starting out?

Do not limit yourself by being an artist as a career, the true artist is to have the spirit instead of fitting in the market.

What project are you currently working on?

Managing a ceramics studio.

What artists, writers, academics, curators and other creative thinkers have influenced your art?

Old Chinese philosophies have.

Who inspires you the most?

Kiki Smith.
