Project Description

JA Jones with hat and glasses

Joshua Jones has chosen acrylic and inks on canvas to express inner conflicts, showing the not-always delicate balance between the orderly and the chaotic.

He started drawing and sketching at a very early age and has continued his artistic growth throughout his life. Joshua’s paintings are heavy influenced by emotions from traumatic life events and his attempts at confronting and controlling them. His experience as a refugee inside of the Superdome during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 has had a profound influence upon his work.

Joshua as always been drawn to the macabre, dark, and raw. While rarely creating ‘the art of things’ he chooses to create paintings that allow the viewer to have their own interpretations and feelings of the work, with minimal guidance from the artist.
